My Game the Beta version

Image
The Beta version of my Game Screenshot of my game My journey of game design has almost come to an end, it is amazing how much I have progressed and developed my game. Overall I think is coming out to be very successful I have fixed many bugs and issues that I happen to have in the alpha version. I have progressed with its development a lot and have fully finished some areas that I was lacking in my alpha version. One of my biggest achievement this week for this version was that I have fully completed building the whole path course and all the elements. All the obstacles are finished and any materials or colours that need to be added on were added successfully. I have tested the whole path of the game myself a few times to make sure it is fully accessible and playable. In order to give the players some choices, I have included some extra paths and shortcuts.   View of my Unity For this version, I have added in a mother plane under the first one to make one level with two parts ...

Unity Tutorial 10 ( my own tutorials)

Tutorials I did for my Project Screenshot of my game This week for finishing my game I have found some more tutorials that helped out to complete the game. Youtube is a great source for tutorials about Unity and coding that have been helping me out since day one of making my game in Unity. I have watched and gone through a majority of tutorials on how to do a game over in Unity. The links are provided below of the tutorials and in order to gain a better result, I have used the best three that I found useful. Creating a game over scene in Unity Game Over Unity Tutorial The next video tutorial is about creating extra scenes in Unity, I was experimenting with making an opening scene and a game over scene. However, it looked very time-consuming and I wouldn't manage to make it in time for the final game upload. Despite that, I found the video beneficial as I may be able to use it in the future for other Unity projects. Unity Extra Scenes For my second part of the game, I have come up...

Unity Tutorials 09

My Own Tutorials that I Found and Used   My game screenshot Unity has provided me a lot of help and guided me to my first game, however, I had to look for tutorials elsewhere to find out how to achieve exactly what I wanted. I found some Youtube tutorials more helpful and even better explained than some of the Unity ones. I have learned new ways of performing the same actions and easier methods for coding. I have become more comfortable with Unity and have progressed massively since I started to work on my game. I think that I wouldn't be able to achieve what I have so far if I wouldn't look on Youtube and unlike Unity, Youtube has comments which are a great help also. There are plenty of Youtube tutorials I have followed in order to get to where I am now with my game. I am very happy with how much I accomplished and improved my game and I have many Youtubers to thank for my success. However, I have started with the first Unity tutorial that we did weeks ago, it was in this one...

Game Stories

Stories in Games  Controler photography Image source Reading 1 by John Sutherland Reading 2 Case Study Video about storytelling A good story in-game is a key factor to raise the quality of your game. Looking back what story has turned out to be successful in former story games is a good starting point for your story in the game. It is important for the developer to know the basics of storytelling when approaching this topic. Over the years the digital games have matured massively and raised the level of potential high.  There are many important features that the developer of the game must consider and focus on in their story. There must be a protagonist which is often the main character that the players engage with the most and love. To give a reason for the story an element of an inciting incident must be added which will apply the main character to have a function or a role that must be completed towards the end of the story game. This can also be the object of desire that t...

Alpha

It's Fun Screenshot of my Unity Project I have done a lot this week getting closer and closer to achieve my first game. I didn't think I will enjoy this so much, I don't know is it the fact that I can create and then interact with the objects, or is it the fact that it is my first time making a game and I'm just finding it interesting at the moment but I'm having lot's of fun making the whole course. To make it better for myself I have focussed a lot on coding for the first few weeks to get everything working first before I move on to the exciting things like making the obstacles. I am very pleased with how much of the code I have already done and it all seems to be working well. I have added in a restart button for the player to start the game over when he or she wishes to however, I have also added some coding for the ground that if the player falls and lands on the green flat area the game is automatically restarted. Therefore I think I might remove the self...
