My Feedback Thoughts on Articles

 Learning From Mistakes

This article points out some interesting points of how giving negative feedback to someone affects both sides. It is a curious question why we find it hard to listen to negative feedback, if it is actually something that can make us better and lets us know where and how we can improve. Negative feedback is as important as positive but we only like to hear the good things about us. The articles states that we should think about how to give negative feedback correctly. It seems that at times negative feedback is not given in the right way. The article says that we should be fully honest and open, things shouldn't be sugar-coated. I like how the article trys to change your mind about negative feedback so that learn to improve from it. I understand the point of view the article is trying to get across and think that we should try to teach our self how to accept negative feedback and then use it as a opportunity to get better.

The more mistakes we make the more we can improve and learn. We shouldn't take negative feedback as a downside or ignore it. It should be carefully listened to and recorded so that you can gain more knowledge and upgrade in your work. From this article I would say that it is important we keep that in our head and remember this for the future, so that next time we receive negative feedback we accept it and enhance from it.

I found this article very engaging as it was honestly written and it was very easy to relate to straight away. I think we all would easily agree that all people have or experience self doubt when is comes to their work. We compare our work to other great artists and work out there that is well known. This is a bad thing to do as we all are creative in a non-identical way. We all look at the world in a different way and have our own mind of creativity. The articles states seven ways to avoid self doubt in creative work and not comparing yourself to others is the first one on the list, which I think is right yet we all still do it.

The author speaks about a major point which I think it is one of the biggest causes of self doubt which is the fact that we all want to make our work be as perfect as possible. This relates to the first article a lot because it is when we work on something for a long time and want to make it perfect that we have the biggest difficulty to accept negative feedback. This is where our growth of mind should enter and make us aware that it is ok to make mistakes. The author is trying to tell us this in his article which I find fascinating how one thing hits on another and can relate to so many different things. The authors tries to let us know how important it is to treat your work as an experiment not a masterpiece and that you should trust yourself.
